Everything you need to know about living in the Skoltech dormitories
In 2020 we have opened the Palisad dormitory complex on the territory of the Skolkovo Innovation Center. It is within walking distance of the campus. The complex consists of 4 modern dormitory buildings, each with 6 floors of living space for more than 140 students. There are different types and apartment configurations.

The Palisad Dormitory complex is located on the Skolkovo territory, within a 20-minute walking distance from Skoltech (or a 5-minute drive). The Skolkovo territory has several free shuttles circulating every 10-15 minutes.
Palisad is part of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, which means students get access to the same facilities as all Skolkovo residents:

- Good transport infrastructure, including bicycles and free transportation on the Skolkovo territory.
- Food & shopping locations, including grocery stores, cafés, restaurants and many other things. There are some malls for shopping and entertainment within a comfortable driving distance.

apartment types
Palisad dormitory has 15 categories of apartments, which are categorized based on the students' level of studies and status (Master's, PhD, families, etc.).
According to the General provisions of sublease agreement and Rules for Accommodation and Stay in Lodging facilities dormitory rates are to be established by the Order of the president of Skoltech.
Minimum length of stay is 3 weeks unless confirmed differently by Dormitory Head.
Check-in time is 2 p.m., check-out time is 12 p.m. Early check-in and late check-out are charged as one night stay according to the rates.

3-6 person shared apartment
Sstudents are allocated in 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments in groups of 3-6 people. You will get up to 3 roommates.
Rate for such a type of accommodation for Skoltech student (incl. visiting students) is 7,000 RUB per bed per month since September, 1st, 2025 (80% subsidization from the rack rate).
Dormitory fees for MSc students under the HRH Princess of Thailand program are established in separate regulations.

Double shared apartment >18sqm
Students are allocated in studios in groups of 2 people. You will get up to 1 roommates.
Rate for such type of accommodation for Skoltech student (incl. visiting students) dormitory fee is 9,000 RUB per bed per month since September, 1st, 2025 (74% subsidization from the rack rate).

Family accommodation

Family Room for a family of 2 active Skoltech students is 18,000 RUB per bed per month since September, 1st, 2025 (74% subsidization from the rack rate).
Family Room for a family of 1 active Skoltech student and his\her spouse is 43,500 RUB per apartment per month since September, 1st, 2025 (35% subsidization from the rack rate for active student spot).
Children of up to 18 y.o. could be accommodated free of charge together with their parents in case of confirmed family accommodation. Additional bed for children is not provided and is a subject of your own responsibility.

Students who require short-term accommodation (less than an academic year) are allocated on beds left available according to established rates.

accommodation rules and regulations
To become (and be) a resident of the Palisad dormitories, residents must familiarize themselves with all accommodation rules. Please do it before requesting a spot.
payment procedure
If you choose to continue living in the dormitories for the fees indicated above, here is how the payment procedure will work:
- On 3rd-8th day of each month, you will be receiving an email with an invoice to be paid by the 20th day of the month. Pay attention: invoice for accommodation and for damages\fines or fees are separate.
- You will need to follow the link to pay each invoice separately stating clearly email address to receive a fiscal check.
- In case the invoice isn't paid within 2 months, we are free to waive the amount together with penalties from your scholarship based on a signed agreement at the time of your arrival. Of course, we will try to remind you about outstanding invoices, still, this stays on our goodwill (not obligatory action from our side). We do not recommend waiting until this moment because that might cause a big amount deduction at once what can affect your monthly budget plans.
- In case you are leaving the apartment (checking out), the final invoices will reach you before actual departure to be covered while still in the Dorms.

Prepare and send a booking request
Review the accommodation regulations, room options and instructions on how to book a spot. Prepare all the required information.

Submit a booking request
Fill out a booking form to send a request. Please note, sending a request does not yet confirm your resevation.

Pass assessments
You will receive an email confirming we've seen your request. The email will contain several assessments required for officially booking your spot in the dorms.

Get a booking confirmation and pre-arrival letter
After you complete all assessment, we will process your request (it may take some time). Once your request is booked, you will receive a checklist with the next steps and navigation advice a few days before check-in.

No, no deposits or guarantee payments exist in Dorm.
However, when you are checking-in you'll have to sign up a certificate of transfer (when are checking-out - certificate of return) with all furniture and supplies written in. So you are responsible for its safety and correct usage. See the samples of agreements here.

There is no special entering regime established so far. However, we do recommend following the rules of well common being and common sense while returning home in the late hours in order not to disturb your neighbors. Each student would have his own key from the apartment and block (RFID key).
No, this is strictly prohibited as believed to be the apartment damage and is subject to disciplinary actions. Moreover, this is prohibited by Fire Protection regulations [Your safety is our top priority!]
First of all, it will be possible not earlier than in a month after check-in.
- You should find a person, who will swap the bed with you.
- All roommates should agree with such a swap.
- Make sure that you match the 0-1 range. It's possible only for 0-1 range students and once in 5 months [one time per semester]
- Inform the Dormitory Head. Only after you receive this approval you will be able to swap your beds.
Unfortunately, we can't give you opportunity to choose your room or roommates because we have over 400 students to allocate and we can't please all your desires physically. Rules are the same for everyone.

If you have a contact disease, we'll temporarily relocate you in isolation room. You should provide doctor's certificate with the specified period of the recommended isolation to Dormitory Head.

Yes, you can. You can invite them during the day, but your guests can't sleep in the dorm (nor day, nor night). You must notify us and receive a response from dorm@skoltech.ru about your guests' arrival no later than 3 hours prior.
Regretfully, we can't accommodate your family overnight [except married couples permanent accommodation], however, we can suggest you friendly hotels and give you informational support regarding LOI, visa, accommodation and registration.
- Contact the Dormitory Head. You should attach the item descriptionand origin of the situation, photo or video.
- In a few days commission will come to check what has happened.
- In case it is warranty case company will fix it for free.
- The commission will decide the amount of the compensation (all prices are listed in the Appendix to the Certificate of Transfer document. See here under 'booking paperwork'). Then you will have to fix the damage or buy the same new item. We follow to the principles of collective responsibility.
